Dr. Patrícia Thomásio Quinelato is an Instructor of Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Mississippi, where she has been teaching since 2018. She holds degrees from the Centro Universitário Ibero-Americano (Brazil), the Faculdades Oswaldo Cruz (Brazil), the Universidade Nove de Julho (Brazil), the Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (Brazil) (MA in Applied Linguistics and Language Studies), the Universidade de São Paulo (Brazil) (PhD in Sciences in the program of the School Psychology and Human Development) and the University of Mississippi (MA in Spanish). Her theses are: 1) The interaction provided by games in English language classroom: participation modes of teacher and students, and 2) Story reading as a method for cognate vocabulary learning in preschool children. Her dissertation is: Doing and comprehending the Sudoku game and its problem-situations: A study with 9th grade students from Middle School. Patrícia has been teaching children, teenagers and adults since 1996 and her interests includes languages, children education and development of reasoning in children and teenagers.
